So saturday night I went shopping and i saw this girl and i knew that i knew her from somewhere so i just smiled and walked on into rue 21:). I kept seeing them standing outside for awhile then i went on to belks and they were gone. But anyways later that night i get this text saying it is beka from some of my friends Church.. and she asked if i was at belk and rue 21 that night and then i realized i knew i knew her from somewhere??? haha. but she kept apologizing for not saying hey and all and somehow we got to talking about the Bible and Church and all and she invited me to Church too but anyways we literally were having Church over text ha til like one in the morning it was great:) I learned a few new things and i am still studying into some of it and Praying about it. Cause she was asking what religion i was and i told her Church of God and then she explained how we were somewhat alomst the same religions and then she asked if I was baptized in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit and I told her yes and then she was saying how where it said nowhere in the Bible to be baptized like that and she showed me a verse in Acts. well then i was like but wait go to Matthew 28:19 and it says "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," But she showed me Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no othe name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
So i was a little bit confused???
Cause i have always been raise on the Church of God doctrine.
And I was baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
So that night and Sunday morning Service, after Church, Sunday evening Serivce that is all i could think about. So i kept looking into and i looked it up in my parents Bible which is a different version that mine and there was a whole entire page into the trinity.. (now i know that the trinity was never mentioned in the Bible or the word wasnt.)
So i looked into Matthew 28:19 and after a while i found somewhere where it was said that in Matthew 28:19 God was simply saying that you have been commissioned by the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit to baptize(like you have our permission) so it was not techincally saying go baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit??
But still there are other people who say it is still the same..that baptizing in the name of Jesus is the same as Baptizing in the Name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.. because your are still baptizing under Jesus authority.
So this is still on my mind... and I am still Praying and looking up different stuff about it.. but if anyones input is appreciated:)
I have to go to the Cullman games tonight.. Goodluck everyone:)
and no school thursday or friday!!! YAY!!!
God is hope.
We got your question and we are going to post about the baptism question you had. It certainly isn't a bother and feel free to ask anything else. We will try to get it all posted prior to Saturday night.
